whats to gain goin from 1.6 to 1.7 exhaust???

yo dudes....fingers crossed the head gasket is done on the bus......while connecting everythin back up i noticed the 1.6 diesel dowpipe is completly cherry packered......gsf £35....now the 1.7 diesel downpipe is £65 is it a larger bore,and would i gain anything from it.will if fit the 1.6 manifold or would i require 1.7 manifold to benefit?...mmm

or does anyone round stoke run a 1.7 so i could compare them maybe?

Normally aspirated 1.6? (non turbo) compared to the 1.7.....they both couldn't pull the skin off a rice puddin, my guess is the added cost is down to fewer 1.7's being made....I'm probably wrong tho.
