I have just recieved my new fridge vents for the exterior of the van, the old screws are corroded to buggery.
1: How can i get em out without angle grinding them
2: Can I buy new ones (self tappers?) from BandQ?

I had to hammer mine out from the inside. They were so rotten they didn't put up much resistance.

Last time i attached mine (last summer)i cut up a rubber inner tube and made a seal (basically four rectangle strips) to go between the van body and the vent, seems to have worked well.

Hi,
if the screws aren't case hardened you can drill the heads off, remove the old, vent then i would undo the screw stubs by grabbing with side cutters/mould grips or such like.

Lots of plus- gas or WD 40.Try tightening them a tiny bit first, might be some better screwdriver bite. Also impact screwdriver. . For some applications I have used a mini pencil blowlamp, still made but need searching for.recharged from Cig lighter can. Flame spread can be limited with a metal sheet with a small hole. Many, many times.
