You have to be careful with the burning chamber, it must not be rusted through which could allow CO into to the heat exchange area.
This is why they have a 10 year life and are part of the MoT over here.

They can be repaired but that costs more than the purchase price.
Save your money and buy a new Propex.

I agree with Titus...

After spending two weekends helping my brother get his Webasto (similar) heater sorted there's more to these finicky things than meet the eye.

With the help of vwcamperfan we overhauled the heater exchange. Fitted new pump. New flame sensor. New burner pad. New inlet pipe. Remounted exhaust pipe. resighted pump and on and on

Finally got there. A mere £210.00 and much time, swearing, cups of teas, fags and bacon sarnies

Whatever used model you intend to purchase be sure spares are readily available. Some are so obsolete few companies hold parts or want to know about servicing them.

Good luck

http://WWW.mellorshop.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; is the cheapest that I have found for spares- he doesn't mark up 100% like most dealers ( eg £16 for a silencer where most dealers charge between £29 and £35 and so on). Wish you had said before you had shelled out that amount!
I didn't get any bacon sarnies!

It's in the post :D

Much of the cost was for the new pump. £100 odd smackers. Since then I seen them for sale elsewhere (eBay I think) for about £70

:ok

You was robbed! I only paid £10 for my brand new one for a 24v hl18d! Any pump will do - you just might have to adjust the metering if it has been set up for a lower powered model.

Another pocket emptying experience then

By that time I think my brother & his girlfriend were beyond careful comprehension. Perhaps hyperthermia was setting in.

Just like owning a T25 ain't it
