MultiMap link
the road that is on the L's of rivington hall barn in the lower right has a section that looks quite challenging. From a rights of way point of view it has the pink dots which means "other route with public access"
Also the route to the west with the green cycle route dots seems quite a nice drive but its got a gate accross it, which could probably be opened. Oh and what is a dashed white road? OS says it is a drive or track. Is it posssible to plan a route without going to the Local Authority and looking at the definitive map?

Edited to shorten link - Stephen

Personally I'd talk to the local authority (you'll need to be quite forceful) and go and look it up in person on the definitive map if you are in any doubt whatsoever.

You might also like to join GLASS as you will gain access to their routes etc.

Hi Andy, tried walking up from the bottom last night but couldn't find the route. Downhill is possible I'm sure but up may be too difficult at the top there is a ledge of about a foot and a half. Mostly loose rock with the odd remnaints of a road, I'll post a few pics. difficult section is only about 30yards long the rest is just bumpy with occassional mud. I'll have another look tonight to see if there's an exit at the bottom.
