Vise-grips at the base and then either CAREFULLY twist or go from under with a long punch and hit the vise grips up. Problem is I seem to remember that the other didn't just fit the same, i think i had to cut and grind down the diameter of the other tube to fit.

Not a nightmare, just not as easy as it would seem that should be. Also because i have the serpentine belt setup, rather than the v-belt one , the tube and dipstick won't fit over the alternator, so when i want to check the oil level i have to open the hatch. Okay for now because i don't burn any oil, but you may want to think it through.

yeah i kept the 1y setup too, seems alot better/modern than the old one...i might make a bracket for the tube if i can..gonna have another look at it now .the reason i want to change it is i broke the dipstick holder at the top of the tube

doh! also it would be better to open the flap rather than lift the lid...back in aa bit

Hi
Did this job recently and thought this thread may be of use -

Must say, it was a tight fit and I tapped it out with a drift when the engine was out so not sure how easy this will be with the engine in situ....best of luck tho
