I think you'll find the old on could be re worked. I've a feeling the back comes off.

Or just use 3 female spades.

Back does come off, but the spades are well corroded........cant find anyone supplying new :(

Just wondered if anyone one on here knew of anywhere.

Better have a 'dig around' in the garage for some female spades then........get it??
Cheers Jon...... :ok

Cheers for the offer..........all sorted now. Female spades did the trick, until I sort out proper connector :D

Certainly worth checking the wires before shelling out on brushes/alternators, people........

Any chance of a pic? :D

There you go :ok .....its normally a block connector........carefully prise the spring wire back, you can see it in the pic, to release the connector. Disconnect the battery first........

The top of the connector flips up, so you can check the wires :D

mine were barely holding on......

Here are the new spades, in place of the block connector.

Why didn't you insert the new spade connectors into the old block connector to make it easier to disconnect and reconnect?

The old connector was burnt out of shape from all the charging voltage trying to get thru 3 strands..........
