Eberspacher B2L

Hey guys,
My heater has never worked since I got the van (nothing at all happens when I press the button) - haven't been able to see anything obvious wrong with it, but I got the Multimeter on it today and realised that there's no power coming up to the control module from the battery.
My question is - is there a fuse somewhere in the cable between the control module and the leisure battery? The cable appears at both ends, but there's no continuity between the two ends, suggesting either a break or a broken fuse somewhere.
Cheers,
Phil.

Haha
Whilst I appreciate the sentiment, I think I might need a definate yes or no before I start ripping bits of the floor/underneath out

If there is one fitted it shouldn't be hidden away under anything as whoever fitted it should have left easy access to it.There is usually one or two fuses fitted to ebers. As to the position of the fuse - it all depends on who fitted it. ie factory or self fit. If it's factory fit someone on here who has the same type of van as you might be able to say where they are normally fitted/hidden.

Cool, well it's definately a factory fit. It's a very original Multivan.

I would have expected it to be close to the battery connection. The manual I have for that model is in German which might as well be Greek to me - arabic I can cope with - it's far easier. There is only one shown on the wiring diagram and that is placed by the battery. Red wire fom battery to steurgerat (control box with about 9 cables going to it) is the first port of call I should say.

Don't suppose the manual is available anywhere? My german isn't too bad. Dealing with all the German paperwork has made me quite proficient actually!

OK, so I've discovered that there is charge in the leisure battery. Where might I find the main fuse for the Eberspacher on a 1988 Multivan?
I know there's another fuse in the silver unit, but there's no power coming upto the unit yet!
Cheers,
Phil.

I had the same Eber when I bought my van, only trouble it was in a box! I bench tested it before refitting and found it to be a simple set-up. I would consider running a separate fused power source from the battery to the unit to check it works before delving into the nether regions of your van trying to find a fault.

Are you sure that the wiring is running from the leisure battery? As a factory fit it might not have had a leisure battery to start with.I would do as suggested and run a temporary cable to the control unit and give it a test that way.Trace any hefty red cables from each battery - there should be a fuse somewhere close.(have you made any sense of that manual yet?)

Fixed!
Turns out there's a little M to F connector behind the buddy seat, had to unbolt the whole thing and take it out because I had a suspicion it might have come undone and I was right
Works a treat now. Heated up more or less straight away after god knows how long it's been not working.
