Following the incredible success of last years 2weeks in France, we're going for it again but this time with slightly more realistic distance targets. Any tips on places to stay and things to do in north west France and the Atlantic coast at the end of June?

What ferry are you taking? Head for Carnac/La Trinite in Southern Brittany and then up to the Crozon Peninsular - Camaret sur Mer and Morgat are beautiful. You can then cut up towards St Malo and back along the coast to Calais etc. I'm sure there are some pics on the gallery from the Wessie Tour of Europe last year if you have a look.

Probably the Dover - Calais as it's nice and cheap. We will be having a gander at Mont St Michel and hoping to go to Jersey for a day or two as well.

IMHO - Mont St Michel is pretty to look at but it's a bit like Blackpool on a rock once you are inside.
If you have time run along into Brittany and look at Quimper, Carnac, et al.

Don't forget St Malo and Honfluer which is a great place with a good campsite just outside it.

there is a cracking aire at Mont St Michel ,think we paid 8 yoyos and that was with hook up , very nice it was too

Yes, I've stayed there and it's a great place - was very busy last time I was there. The view of the rock at night is spectacular as well.

There are so many fantastic places to see in Brittany that I could type for hours but I'm not about to do that.
I'd recommend buying the Rough Guide to France. Loads of information on all the sights.

As a couple of kids (50's) Mont St Michel was best to play in in the evening, when the coaches had gone and yes the aires looks like a refugee camp but the view is stunning and it's cheap. If you are new to aires it's a good one to start with - some of them seem a bit daunting (St Malo bus station for one), I use them lots and they make France loads more affordable than camping in the UK. The aquarium in Boulogne is fintastic as is the old walled part of the town. Le Touchet is just a cool place to hang out - sand yachts, volleyball and Bentley Continentals.

family run spot, small and quiet, but only 2 minutes drive to town, and lots of beaches to explore nearby. No resturant on site, good basic showers etc and a little shop. Brittany had poor weather last year , the locals were shocked at the lack of sun. I still got burned! nigel
