couple of questions

hi all,after droping my 1.6 cs engine out me van l found this on the floor

not sure about vw,s but it looks like the sort of spring some engines have to help hold air filter housing on

Might be wrong but I think that may be the return spring for the air flaps.
Looks a bit mangled now though!
