Insurance

It's that time of year when the insurance, MOT, AA and Tax is due all at the same time so moneys tight this month!
Credit crunch?? I'm in melt down I think

MOT not an issue van is A1 :ok
Tax will do 6 months so only £100ish
AA got down to £70 from £97

It's my insurance that I can't believe it's almost double to £420 :rofl but got it down to £390 at the mo, but was wondering what other pay for their classic insurance and who do you use??

The problem with phoning around is that every time you've go to give so much detail which takes forever and if your jobs anything like mine I don't get time to have a P where I'm so busy never mind having time to phone.

Details
T25 Westy (LHD) with agreed value
Limited milage to 7K
Kept on drive / under carport
Age ?? lets say I've been driving for some 25 yrs (with no points)

Down side had a little bump last year (1st ever) but hence the increase ??? (was my fault but other car had no insurance but still had to pay out as it was on private land (car park) not sure how that works never mind van only had small scratch.

Hi mate, i'm new to this scene, so i shopped about and am now with Motor and Home direct (through KGM), tel 0845 219 0494, i've driving similar time as you, no accidents, T25 AC RHD 12months policy with £2000 personnal effects (which is not normal for classic policy), for me and the wife and i think unlimited miles + all usual stuff £176 :D worth a try.
I think with yours the fact its a left hooker and probably the accident may contribute to the higher costs.
Give my insurance company a call, its worth a try.
Lets us know.

Cheers

DD

PS is your AA cover for yourself or the van? as i need to look into this side of things for when i put my bus on the road.
Cheers

i did have quotes from Adrain Flux and a another, at around £120 FC etc etc for me and wife via a fully blown classic policy/limited miles, but all classic policies do not include personnal effects, and if your going away on family holidays and its full of your 2weeks worth of worldly belongings and it gets broken into you get nothing from a classic policy....so be warey.

Just got off the phone to Steve from Glynwood and he most definately quoted me happy!

HIC & JK are one and the same. For 8k mileage they quoted me £500+

Caravanwise came in a £363

Glynwood premium £249 unlimited mileage, agreed valuation, 90 days European cover, 2k contents, legal cover and commuting!!!!

Blardy fabulous :D

Thank you for the number donnieg!

Paid £180 fully cmp fr me and the wife, both >6yrs no claims, limited mileage, on a 1915 F reg T25, through Adrian Flux. Cheaper than the family car thats costing me £300 for the same requirements!

Well worth calling A FLux.
