Firstly I have checked the search button,wiki etc and have found some info but not everything i need.

I want to fit central locking and an alarm to my van,but preferably i want the sliding door and maybe the tailgate to work on the centrals aswell.

I've already got a cheapy alarm/immobiliser off ebay that i never used though it doesnt include the central locking motors,but it says it can connect to central locking motors that are already in a vehicle.

I'm not sure whether to try get a central locking kit that doesnt use a fob and connect it with the alarm,or buy a new alarm that includes motors.

And im not sure what the best way is to get the sliding door to work on central locking,i guess the tailgate can be connected with a solenoid.

I've got OE central locking on my Caravelle.
My cheap key fob alarm has a add on unit that changes the pulse output of the alarm into a signal that the CL accepts.
The sliding door lock motor connects through a sprung contact plate on the B pillar.
The tailgate lock is fitted with a sliding barr that enables or disables the push button.
Several members have adapted aftermarket CL motors.

Firstly try to make friends with one of our many Traders/Breakers who may be able to help you with your quest to fit central locking to a van which doesn't all ready have it fitted. Then once you have gathered all the associated motors, brackets, contact switches (for sliding door) relays and wiring ( may even need the later fuse box ) it will be just the simple matter of making it all fit.

Then to add an imobiliser you may have to get hold of a decent one which has an interface to suit the central locking system,,,,,No doubt you will be wanting one with all the bells and whistles that will close (lock) the door at the press of a button, not to mention passive arming for those just in case times when you walk away and forget to press the button...

Yep id be happy with OEM central locking aslong as i can get my alarm/immobiliser to work with it,though from past experience most aftermarket alarms work with standard central locking.

So you guys think the best way is to get the original central locking? (i guess thats the only way to get the sliding door/tailgate to work)
