1000W electric oven on a 12V battery

How can you run a 1000W small electric oven from a 12V leisure battery, how long will the battery last, if its a 75 AH battery.

From a 75ah battery wont even switch it on !!! plus why bother with it !

if you are using an inverter of at least 1000 watts then you could use a low wattage mirco wave but on a 75ah battery it will start up an run but not for long you could cook a mirco burger 0-tasty in 60 seconds
unless you do what i did on my boat
i have six 125 amphour and a 1500 watt inverter and that will run a 750 watt mirco
so i would forget the oven as the heater elements will soon kill the battery
oh and you could haul the battery bank around on a trailer
may as well get a genny

if you've not already got an invertor you'll be better off getting a gas oven. it'll be cheaper. you can't run an invertor for very long at full tilt so you'd need a 2kw so that you could run the oven constantly.
then you've got the problem of the leisure battery going flat. running at 1kw and assuming a 10% inefficiency of the invertor you'll be using over 90A from the battery. if your battery is in good condition you might be able to get at most about half an hour out of it, but with the battery being so flat you are likely to kill the alternator an or the split charge system, when you start the van.
rapid charge and discharge of the battery will also shorten it's life too.
in short it's do able but not practical!

1,000 Watts at 12Volts = 1,000/12 = 83Amps. Forget the calculations involving Amper Hours etc. it just ain't viable. I agree - get a gas appliance.

Rather begs the question what would you want a 1000w oven for ?
I've seen Disco & Kate's gas oven in action and that was great for heating things up, I've seen other friends cooking Sunday lunch in a Cobb BBQ and a leg of lamb in a pressure cooker on a gas ring .... but the thing I've never yet seen is WHY ?
