Hi,
Has anyone got any images of the bunk arrangement that goes above the drivers seats? I would like to make one and need to see how it works.

I also need to know if anyone has had fun getting the drivers side seat to turn fully facing backwards (on a captains chair set up) without hitting the steering wheel. I was considering making a removal steerinmg wheel rig to allow it to turn and be inline with the passenger seat.

The driver's seat usually isn't meant to turn fully around 180 degrees as there is normally furniture behind it which limits it's turning circle to 90 degrees. I am just about to change the interior so that there is no furniture behind the drivers seat. I am mounting 2 small car seats just behind the drivers seats with a big enough gap for a long table to run 2/3rds the way across the van so that the front seats will turn 180 to face the ones just behind. I will have to design a quick release steering wheel mech, no worries, it will be good for security when in Europe as well.

The reasoning is that when driving each day with 2 small kids back on the bench they are just too far away to talk to and deal with. So I picked up 2 Piaggio car seats and fabricated an alloy box for them to sit on at the same level as the front seats. They go about 2/3rds the way across the width of the vehicle and the table hinges up from the side either halfway across, or all the way so the kids have it to use when driving, it can then be used with the front seats turned as the main table when camping.
The cooker sits behind the seats and the sink and prep surface are across the van under the full width bed on a rail that allows them to be lifted to a good height to work at. I have fabricated most of the bits and will fit them in April when my current contract finishes. Pics to follow.

I'm just about to have a new high top fitted with sliding bed. i currently have a Bluebird hammock, which will then be redundant and for sale if your interested?

All the designs I've seen so far suffer from a sag in the middle. Which is fine (and probably safer) for one child, but not workable for two - they're narrow enough to fit side by side, but with a sag they'll roll together into one, noisy heap. Anyone else got experience of a cab bunk accommodating two children (and solved the sag-to-the-middle problem)?
