Can anyone tell me what the ride height from the centre of the front axle to the wheel arch is on a STANDARD syncro - ie unladen and NOT a camper?

IIRC Fronts........ from the bottom lip of the front arch to the centre of the drive shaft is 583mm........ or is it 483......!!!!!!!!!!!

Its 483mm......... or if you look at the bottom of this page... somewhere in the range... but I think Si has put "toe" where it should say camber.. the height changes a lot when you change the camber (toe will to as the camber adjustment pushes the knuckle in/out.. butthat has to be corrected after the camber adjustment..)

imho figures quoted are wrong, standard 14" is less than the quoted, my jacked 14" with 15mm spacers and new springs is 478mm so we (Simon at Brickwerks) set it at 0 degrees as that's where the graph would go next, the figures in autodata go in 5mm increments. Seemed fine on beaker too which wasn't jacked, no tyre wear issues after 20k miles.
A jacked 16" will get into the quoted range, but the data in autodata quotes 16" too and it doesn't look much different to the 14" data.
Either the measuring point is wrong (maybe the underside of arch rather than the lip) or someone made a boob and used the 16" data for the 14" I don't know, be interesting to know what the germans reckon about this.

Well, mine (on 195/80/14) has got 485 mm (window van with bench seat and buddy seat but nothing else)
But there are (unconfirmed) rumours that springs on army vans aren't quite standard but HD of some sort.

Thank you gentlemen ......
The reason I want this measurement is to ascertain what front spring shims I should buy to jack up the front. I have Busschmiede front springs which add height and they are too hard and I want to put back my standard springs with shims. The ride height as it is, is perfect for what I need but the front bounces about too much for a light van like mine.
