Who could make this mistake only me........
Westy Joker came with D2L eberspacher not working. After spending £100.00 I got it working but filled the camper with toxic fumes (warm) but toxic.
As the fitting holes for the heater were already in the floor, I decided to go for the same heater (discontinued) imported from Germany. spent £190.00 with delivery, fitted it and all fine for the first night. Second night started noticing the toxic smell again. Checked all hoses, exhaust, and comb air inlet. still toxic.
£300.00 now and I feel like setting fire to the van.......
Any ideas. Its the 20KG one that hangs under your van, although at at the mo it feels like a noose round my neck.....
If I had not already spent £300.00, I would go for a new Airtronic D2.
Should I just bite the bullet and forget the dosh I'v spent as it could just go on and on.

Don't give up, don't let a piece of metal get you down, you can win! You just needs someone to come along with an answer!

have you checked out the ebber stuff in the Wiki, under camper interiors, heating, there is a link to the faultfinding...........
sounds to me like the exhaust is faulty, or not balanced

The problem I am having is that every dealer in the UK says they do not exist unless I send them some info and pics. Maybe it was only supplied in Germany?
It's difficult to find any info in English. I had the fiitting instructions ( In Englis ) and it says that the exhaust can be no more than 2m and the combustion pipe no more than 1.4m, I have kept to these specs due to there being a fitted exhaust. What worries me is that the gasket between the exhaust and combustion chamber is faulty, and as the combustion chamber is an integral part of the heater any fumes escaping will be inside the box. Or that the overlapping seal that runs round the whole box is worn and sucking in the fumes from there.
ps.
thanks Mocki I did look in the wiki.
Oh well lokks like a true southern freeze for me and Frankie.....
It does get nice and chubby warm ( as German add said), but I dont think you would wake back up..............

Tried Thursby's charged me £60.00 for 2m of ducting, 4x jubillee clips (wrong size ) and an exhaust clamp. Plus he was one of the people who did not believe eber made my heater until I emailed him a pic og it.
I have after reading mocki's reply shortened the exhaust to just a bit longer than the combustion pipe, which seems to have made abit of a difference.
Not sure if I am just being paranoid now, as I have my daughter coming with me to southern freeze.
Think I might invest in a carbon monoxide detector, just in case...
If I can find one........

£11 a meter off ebay, less if you can find a ill-listed bit, the girl-racers have it for air ram ducting, same stuff tho

Yeah Mocki I know, they had me by the sweaties though.
I thought the ducting would be the same as I purchased from ebay.de, impregnated canvas with wire inforcement, but ended up with the paper ally stuff.
found some great jubilee clips on ebay, 1 inch wide stainless steel, real beefy monsters.
Anyway the fumes seem not to be as noticeable now, going to cut the exhaust same lenght as the combustion pipe tomorrow.
thanks lhd....................................

You could try your local HGV workshop or Marina they normally have a night heater bod they call on if they don't have one on the payroll
