Welcome Ady,
I'm there with you mate. I've had the oil and filter changed and still no luck. I've bashed the Dash with my fist several times and although it makes me feel better does'nt actually fix it.
I now drive with my ipod on.
I have the van booked in for some other bits and bobs and will defo add this to it. If my sanity holds that is.

I got sparky to bypass buzzer and wire up as per normal oil pressure warning light. Now if the oil pressure does drop it is just the light that comes on. Dont know how much he took as it was included in some other wee bits and pieces which all came to £60.

Make sure you're not just shutting up the messenger ... if you have low oil pressure perhaps it's best you know ?
Ian.

The buzzer is there for a reason and just doing an oil and filter change will not fix it everytime, you need to fix it properly or there is a good chance your engine will go pop!!!!!!

Meant to say, get an oil pressure test done first to make sure there isn't a problem there. Mine was fine and it was an electrical problem.

I had my local garage check it out and they said it was fine. They did some other work and made a good job. Its going back in next week for some work on the gears.
Is it easy to check myself? I have no rev counter in my dash. And very little tools or idea of what I'm doing. I pass a garage on the way home, is it something they could do quickish with little expense.
Not asking much am I?

You don't say what engine it is

BUT if it's a WBX and you've been driving it for even a tiny distance with no oil pressure the tappets would've drained out it'd rattle like an extremely rattley thing and have stopped dead by now. Trust me I've been there
Ian.

Ideally you whant a garage to connect an oil pressure guage to the engine to see what actual pressure you have, if this is between the manufactures spec for what ever engine you have then you can look at the pressure senders etc (ie the electrical side of things) if its not in the correct range then your oil pump or oil pressure relief valve has worn and requres changing etc!

Thanks guys.
I have a 1900 DG Petrol watercooled.
There is nothing unusual with the engine noise. I have some strange goings on with the blower switch, and radio.
The switch and I have been through quite a few lately, either sticks on in 3rd speed or just doesn't work. And the radio switches itself on and off whenever it likes. I climbed into the van yesterday to find it on. Fearing it had been on since friday I gingerly turned the key and it started first time. As soon as the engine was on it switched itself off
The buzzer and light goes off sometimes at low revs. But generally its on all the time after 30 seconds of the engine being started.
Thanks again.

If working correctly the buzzer should only come on above 2,000 rpm, the light will still be flashing though. You have an electrical issue and that's probably going to mean waking up a 'Master of the Dark Arts' aka an Electrician
