Zig Units?

Just starting to fit out my panel van, and came across these, what does the CP unit actually do? I'm going to wire in a simple splitcharging relay circuit with a fuse box.
Does the Zig unit manage the charging and give me 3 fused out puts? Benefiits?

Hi - this is what my zig does, and I think its the CP unit.
I can switch the 12 v circuit as a whole OFF - so when parked up I know that the leisure isn't draining with the stereo etc
I can swtich the 240 circuit on and off
I can tell it whether to charge from an external 240 supply, or from the vehicle (the former when hooked up, the latter when driving)
I have 3 fused 12v circuits
A pretty red lamp tehat tells me when the leisure is LOW, and a green one when its OK!
I like it.....and got one specifically for the van. However, people with more electrical nonce than I recomend different ways...put split charge or zig in the search and have a read, as I have raised this a couple of times before
Good luck!

A Zig 'CP' unit (eg, CP400) is a control panel and does not have a battery charging facility.

A Zig 'CF' unit (eg, CF8) is a control panel with battery charger.

Thanks very much! Thats really helpful!
So really at the moment for simple circuit I cant see it being worth the investment? until I run lots of appliances off the battery and run 240v charging?(I'm a poor student so a tight a***!) Views?

Must admit, can't see the point of fitting a spilt charge relay system and a zig....a small fuse box off the leisure will do the job.
1664 - you are right...mine is the CF unit.
And that's why I like it....all in one charging and control.

Correct. A camper doesn't NEED one; but it is nice to have one nonetheless - but then I'm old fashioned
