Last night on the way home from work the right side of my dash binnicle was thrown into darkness, the clock and fuel gauge. Question is where is the bulb and what sort of bulb is it? Cheers.

its on the top , one each side, and one in the middle, take the dash top off, as if you are going to check the brake fluid (you did know there was brake fluid in there didnt you) and the are right in front of you, and they are twist and remove type dash bulbs (someone will know the part number im sure)

I have the same bulb problem and have done for nearly two years.
I have a push on LED light to show me what my petrol is doing. It used to be my phone

So I have gone up in the world.
I have replaced the bulb with no luck. And I have tried Jed's subtle trick to sort it out (and the 'buzzer o doom' problem )but to no avail.
I will be interested to know how you manage to fix it

Baxter got the right ones on his webshop now I think. I tried to fit 2W versions from a golf mk1 to my tacho but its a bit dodgy (sometimes needs a smack) and not noticeably brighter, teach me to use second hand bulbs I surpose. Think they are 507t dash bulbs, but not sure as there seems to be alot of simular but different plastic bases around. The capsules inside the plastic holders are 286 but seem to be soldered in so just swaping them isn't so streight forward, but possable - for the price I'd just by Baxters, should do another 15+ years then and can still be dimmed.
