My van is in the garage as we speak and the mechanic cant find the timing marks

Any help please

you should have a timing gauge that bolts onto the fan gaurd, most are missing tho....

Dont think that is there anymore

What do i do then, is there any timing marks on the flywheel

the fan /pulley has marks on it, 12oclock is tdc, but the fan gaurd shoold have a gauge on it to show the advanment markings.
if you are just trying to establish tdc you shoudnt need it.

if you do need it you need to either borrow one, of purchase one from someone breaking a CU. i would guess.

got it. I did have one and my timing was 4% out. Dont know if that is much but it seems to run better now.
