Westy Sliding door window

Some to**pot has fired what looks like a fishing weight through my sliding door window. It is the original westy plastic double glazed model. The hole, which is about 3" diameter, is through both panes of the panel. So, I'm thinking something like a catapult was used!
Anyway, can it be fixed? Is it worth going through insurance? Or is it a DIY buy & replace job? I've looked on the Gunzl's site, replacements are available but not cheap.
Any advice gratefully received!
Kev

Sorry to read about that Kev, there are some real T*SS*RS out there
You can always ring the insurance to check what excesss they will charge you, and if it will affect your NCB - is bonus protected etc. Could be fun discussing what they will no doubt consider glass when we all know its plastic !!
Check it out then weigh up if it's cheaper in the long run to claim (reduced NCB if not protected), or can you have X number of "glass claims" in a year without affecting your bonus, or is it going to cost more to do it through insurance than just to buy one and fit it.
Good luck
Andi

Many thanks for the advice guys. Insurance are looking into it at the mo, but the type of window is confusing them!!
For synchrospares: Do you mean from suppliers in the UK or generally? As far as I can see, there only seems to be Gunzl's for a new window. Is there a UK supplier?
Cheers
