Hi All,
Another job that needs to be done before we disapear into the sun set is fitting an oil cooler 8)

I have the radiator 19 row but just want to run a few things by you and check out the consensus in general

Mocul take of plate 3/4 UNF 16 tpi ?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Mocal-Oil-Cooler- ... 240%3A1318" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

With the existing cooler take of that warms the oil then fitting a T4 oil fliter, as there is not alot of space?

13mm -1/2 inch rubber pipe fitted onto 13mm copper pipe fitted under the van back to rubber pipe to the radiator, or do I do the whole run in the rubber pipe? which works out VERY expensive as it about £6 per metre

Konfused and under pressure as usual
Kris

Do you think you really need an oil cooler for a 1.6 na?

With my 1.7KY and 1.9 1Y's i never experienced any issues with overheating. The only reason i have an oil cooler now is because the turbo on the AAZ heats up the oil significantly under load.

Anyway, i wouldnt risk putting copper pipe in the pipework - more things to go wrong and leak. Besides, it will only save you £20 so its not worth the hassle.

I can still fit the normal oil filter in also......

I would not think an oil cooler was needed on 1.6 na either.

Thanks for the replies,

The reason that I am going to fit the oil cooler is that with the tempreature in Spain being alot higher than here in UK and would rather be safe than sorry.
This combined with it having to tow 1000kg or so, down through France through the Pyrenees then down to Andalucia I was thinking that it would be benefical and would help preserve the low powered 1600 diesel,

Think I will be using rubber pipe all the way through to the radiator, as it will be safer and easier and save on trying to mount the copper piping.
