Another Ct question

Ok I'm trying to tear down my engine at the moment to replace a few gaskets and sort the oil leaks, now the problem I'm having is there is no obvious oil leak. God damn it why couldn't it be obvious.

I have oil being flown about the engine bay which then settles and drips down between the tinware on the drivers side.

However one thing has come to light, when I removed the oil cooler, the housing it sits on is full of oil, is this normal?

I would have thought oil would have only gone thought eht oil ways and not sit in the housing which is a trianlge shape, so I'm hoping that maybe its onthe the seals there that has gone.

Obiously I will why the engine is out replace:
crank case seal, push rod seals on drivers side, passenger side are bone dry so I'm not touching them
Rocker cover seals
Fuel pump seal although I'll try to make a plate up to blank this of as its not used
Breather gasket

Is there a seal for the distributor?

Are there any others I'm missing and should do?

In theory there should be no oil in the triangle part you mention however.... this is a CT were talking about and it's a VW!......
There is a rubber seal round the shaft near the bottom of the dizzy - unless this is missing or in visually really poor condition it shouldn't give any probs...

Remember - consider changing the oil seal behind the flywheel

ahh the joys of leaking pushrod tubes! I have this to do (again!) on my bus once I have sorted the carbs out
