I have been looking at my roof liner with a view to renewing it
In the front it looks as if it is held in place by some folded over metal tags
Further back it seems to be held up and in place by thin metal rods
So I presume that you remove the liner from the tags and just pull it backwards until it is slack enough to turn the rods sideways and remove them
I also had a look on how to make a new liner and I think I would rather buy a new one
But as with most things once you have done it all will become clear
I HOPE
As to running new wires Good luck
Andy

ive had a good look too, but as you say its in behind some tags and its bloomin tight, unlike you i want to re-use it so just ripping away to see how it works isnt an option...if you could let me know how you did yours it would be appreciated and thanks for the reply i was beginning to think i was all alone in this forum

on the sides (above cab doors)
pry open the lip with a scew driver , it is just some tabs folded over.,only pry them about 45 degrees,
then gently pull off the headliner which is folded over.
there are some metal rods that go through the headliner side to side which push into so plastic caps fitted into holes in the roof.
the rods are at every point there is a seem side to side in the headliner
bear in mind the front is wrapped over the windscreen lip behind the windscreen rubber ,also the mirror and sunvisors hold it in place if you want complete removal!

I've just completly removed the cab lining if you want any advice...
It isn't too bad once you get into it.
If I'm picturing your cupboard right then it will be in your high top at head hight as you stand up in the center of the van. There was some wired into my van where the wires ran down the sides of the floor of the cupboard into the vans metal cased compartments where other wires run down (where the door lights fit into and that you van see once the roof lining is off) and down the front pillars between the front widscreen and door attached to the van with screws that have cable holders attached.
I got rid of my speakers because they were rubbish and am going to attempt to put mine in the seats so I will be running wire under the flooring maybe...
Hope it goes well,
Will
