Where does one put axle stands then?

I cant figure out where they would go

if you look just behind (if you are looking from the side of the van they are behind) the jacking points there are crossmembers that are good for axle stands. use a stout block of wood between stand and van to protect the underseal

Well some smart a*** is going to pipe up wih "The clue is in the name" So I did! But as we don't have axles as such it don't help us much does it.
But seriously the vehicle manufacturerers Jacking points would always be the best option. But if you use packing to spread the load/protect the paint job make sure it aint wobbly. And again it depends what you want to do once you get it up so to speak. I use various parts of the chassis and sometines even the suspension again depending on what I want to do. The more mature DIY mechanic will remember discovering how weak sills and the like were at the inception of MOT testing or jacking the vehicle up by the recomended bit of pipe welded to the sill next to the wheel only to have it rip up the metalwork (read rust) leaving the wheels firmly sat on the ground.

(I had a chap ask me to weld up his Zephyre Six convertable as he had to empty the car of passengers before he could open the doors. Another chap asked me to ark weld his hydraulic brake pipe! Happy days indeed
