Hi

Dumb question I know but where is the starter motor on my 82 Aircooled t25. Can I get to it without getting under the van?

Cheers

Oh and a mechanic said that my van has electronic ignition, when I suggested that I need new points, as part of a planned service

Cheers folks

Where its always been since the earliest beetles in the 1930s - on top of the gearbox behind the engine.

visible through wheel arch on drivers side on a waterboxer, think an Aircooled is probably the same as gearboxes are very similar. if you have long arms you should be able to reach it easily, if short of arm then you'll have to take the wheel off and get into the arch a bit, don't do this without using an axle stand...
