I'm having by tailgate wielded at the moment so the glass has been taken out. It already had a tint on it but it's starting to look a bit knackered, so I've gone and got some more film. I've never tinted windows before so I was wondering if anybody had any handy tips?

All I know is that it has to be really clean , any dust or hairs between the film and glass won't look good , let us know how you get on , I might redo mine !

Just have a go! Google it and learn.. It's not hard you just have to be EXTRA CLEAN !!
Lots of soap & water sprayed on then pu it on and squuegee...

Could be worse, you could live in Germany and have it approved afterwards!!

You have the advantage that the window is out. When i did mine the window was in and it was tricky. Took two attempts.

As said before, get everything extra clean, place on a extra clean table or bench, make sure no dust can be tempted to stick to the film while you apply it.

Spray on lots of soapy water, place film on so lots sticks over the edges, squegy the water and air bubbles out and leave to dry. When dry, take the excess film thats hanging off the edge off with a very sharp stanley blade.

Buy enough film so you can mess up once or twice....

i believe doing them in the bath(not whilst your in it) is a good way to do them.submerge the glass.float the film on top of the water.and pull glass up to the film..

Well a automotive glazer that I know has said he'll do it for me for £25, so he's gonna do it instead of me. I was the post about not fitting it if you have pets that done it, two dogs= a lot of hair floating about.
