Get a 2.2 or 2.5 and then you can still dream of an svx. It's a bit like marrying Uma Thurman but still dreaming of Kelly Brooke. (substitute names as is your will) I dream of Imprezza STI.

From the first time I saw these conversions over 5 years ago I fell in love with them. If VW had continued to develop the flat 4 configuration then I am, sure that it would have been something like the current Subaru Boxer.
Again like everything Japanese they take the original idea and improve on it a million times.
The Subaru Boxer does not drive like a VW Wasserboxer at all, it loves to be driven properly by being revved and fortunately the T25 Gearbox's allow that to happen.
Lets not forget the T25 will never be a rocket ship but it can be a real pleasurable driving experience with a SCOOBY LUMP in the rear.
Oh did I forget its RELIABILITY as well!!!

Actually I looked into scooby conversions 8 or 9 years ago... and I planned to do that to the 'velle, but insurance was an issue... couldnt find anyone to cover it.. coz its 8 seats not 7 and left hand drive and then has a major mod...

Since tyhe plan to move to france came up and looking at what would happen... it wouldnt have been possible to reg it there either, so it got shelved, sticking with the wbx its possible to make improvements and they would slip under the radar.....

its a toss up..... the schick is 165bhp which is the same as the ej25..... i have the whole install in already, ie chargecooler, wastegate, oil coolers chargecooler rad ecu etc etc.... would have to strip it all out to fit scooby lump.... if it was a standard wbx then yep, can see it.... but lots more wk.... scooby prob more reliable and powerful tho!? the turbo wbx does go tho and great fun on boost! but drinks fuel and erm, get quite hot if nailed hard....

descisions..... shame to strip out a rare set up, but just want to go camping (fast camping!!!)

What you have is worth something to someone. Sell it, it would probably pay for most of it. Fast camping with better economy. :ok
