the best thing for tv in a van is a magic circle available for about a tenner from truck stops or the like, i'm sure you'll be able to find one on ebay!

they run on a couple of batteries for the booster and it looks like a set top aerial!

what Dave said, however, i struggled with digital quality with my age-ed magic circle, the new ones maybe ok???
i bought a amplifyed boat antenna, removed it from its "flying saucer" shaped housing and used velcro to stick it on the inside of my hitop roof...... fibreglass doesnt exist for RF signals, so its like it on the outside, but without the leaks!

Thanks guys!
Mocki, thats very interesting... I thougth fibreglasswould have offered a fair bit of resistance. I may well just chuck one of them in the corner of the hightop
Thanks again

nope, radio cant see fibreglass, (unless its painted with metalic paint)
try it, inside the hitop then outside, no difference.....

Tried quite a few before I went to Sky and the best one I found for digital was bought in a camping and caravan accessory shop, (think its a Maxview - white with alloy fins aither side) and widely available for boats, campers and caravans (but, its not a permanent fit type). Threw my electronic flying saucer one in the skip!

Or has Carbon Fibre used in the manufacture of it. (Carbon is a No-no)

Would foil lined insulation have an effect on the signal (therma wrap)
I've tried a few different aerials and have yet to find a good one

Yup, foil will interfere with with signal

Vanagon, the one I have is more conventional, flat, white body, alloy fins either side and a stock item in caravan accessory shops.

Hi everyone,
I gave up with trying to get freeview reception on campsites some time ago and got Maplin's satellite suitcase kit instead.
It takes about a couple of minutes from getting it unpacked to getting pictures, I haven't looked back since.
