Wooooo Hoooooo.....
I've just managed to buy a pop top for my van (devon type) I haven't fetched it yet but according to the seller everything is there bar the bed boards.
Now the initial excitement is fading a little with the prospect of fitting it

errrr......how do you fit it? and how easy is it to do?
or have I just wasted £100?
ANY tips or advice welcome
any offers of help even more welcome

Measure measure and measure some more then cut it!!!! I converted mine from tin top to pop top, did it all myself its not all that hard just need to think very carefully so you dont cut the hole to big and then have to mes about getting round it, is the frame with it or is there nothing bar the actuall roof ???

Karen,
I gave Matt a hand on fitting a devon to his.
I am sure he will be along with pics he took which give a good detailed account on how it goes.
You may also need a Discodave patented pop top fitting tool.
Ask Dave or Matt all will be explained.
Overall not too bad a job and well worth it.

Phew! sounds like I haven't wasted my crimbo money then....
James, the guy I've bought it off says that everything is compete apart from the boards - it comes with the bit that goes around the hole & the fibreglass runners that the bed slides on - is there anything else I'll need?
as for measuring......I'm a bird

better get Nige to do it
Scoobydrew....I'll wait in anticipation for Matt's detailed account

and more information on Disco Dave's tool

so you want to borrow the tool do you? well the original one got lost but i'm sure if you ask nicely i can fabricate a new one.
I've got all the measurements somewhere, but depending on the condition of the roof these may or may not be much use! is the roof attached to the bed base or are they seperate?
so when are we having a roof fitting party?
