ginge told me about this, but cant seem to find any more info on it. its not the one where you jack it and bleed from the grill. its the other way round or something, you fill from the front.

the guy who just did my pipes said he would do it, and when i got there he didnt know what it was.

something about not being enough water in the system (was drunk at the time) and being a petrol to diesel conversion, so i get luke warm . warmish air form the heater when traveling around town, but on the motorway it blows cold??? something about the engine working harder so it nicks it from the radiator ?????

any mopre info

What a walley! Or not maybe if he was going to get paid for fiddling with your motor. If the heater don't get hot there ain't any hot water circulating through it. It must be circulating through the engine and radiator otherwise your engine would be damaged by now. It is probably an air lock issue although a maladjusted or busted heater valve or cable is what caused the problem in mine. Back bleeding could I suppose work but the designers intent was for the bleeding to be achieved in the main by the bleed nipple  in the top of the radiator. That little pipe running around the engine bay is I believe a collector for air so it shouldn't be blocked or kinked and can be used for bleeding by releasing a hose clip at a high point with the engine sluightly warm but not really hot as boiling water will shoot out. Bleeding probably best achieved with a hot engine via the radiator nipple  with the front of the vehicle high. But don't take my word for it sit back and get the experts opinions in due course...

oh!!!
there does seem to be a button missing off my heater thingy you know where you adjust the blower. could that be it stuck on cold?, it did get hot once on the way back from cheddar on the motorway it was cold, but when i pootled around lost in bolton, it got well hot, was lovely, would like to get to the bottom of my cold heater, and get it working, everyone else seems to boil.

Collette, i had asimilar problem with mine. The heater knob was connected but wasnt connecting with the mechanism so the heat coming out of the vents was minimal. As usual with these things it was an extremely quick(10 minutes fix, if you know aht you are doing)

If that is found to be the problem you need to adjust it so that the water valve closes firmly just before you run out of movement on the lever. Otherwise you will not be able to turn the heater off on the few days of summer we seem to have in spite of the so called climate change. I believe you will find that plastc bezel with the three levers will come out so giving access to the cables and clamp screws.
