Radiator Questions

Hello all,

I am very close to the end of a project that has taken over a year to compleat (was ment to be finished for this summer, but never mind) anyway, I have converted a 1982 A/C T25 Bus into a 2.2l Scooby powered campervan. I have the radiator installed in the front and the tubes running to it from the engine, my question is which manifold on the radiator should I connect the hot (in) water to and which should I connect the cooled (return) water to? Also it is a single speed fan rad, and am not sure which side of the rad motor wire connectors is live and which is negative. Any help would be great. I drove her for the first time yeasterday, but with no cooling can only really let her run for a min or so.

Cheers in advance,

Jack

Water in, should be to the top of the radiator.
Try connecting the fan up temporarily to see which way the fan runs. It wont cause any damage to the motor if you get it wrong.

cheers tony, both in and out are at the bottom of the radiator though, is it the one with the bracket shaped around it or the other one......

also with the fan, should the fan be blowing air onto the back of the rad or sucking air through it?

I think the inlet to the radiator arrivs at abot 45degrees to the unit .
the out let comes straight down.
I think the fan should be sucking, otherwise it would be working against any prevailing air flow.

my rad screw has a 13mm head...coz I need a 13mm spanner to undo it....and don't forget the copper washer!

Yep, its an M6 if anyone else ever needs to know. Pepperami, thats kind of you, though it is almost done, have driven it up and down the street now and am fairly sure the cooling system is working, but not so sure about my temperature gauge! i know the fan is working anyway.
