been chating with some one of the forum and the say ones i take them of ie upper wishbone bushes and well not need to spot Weld them back on,all i need 2 do is just nock them back on and fit them back on the van well this be ok 2 do???

so why did they Weld them in the fist place when made ??

Too confuse people trying to get them out! You asked the queastion weld them up if you want it makes no odds as youl only probibly have to do them again next year!

oh ok well if ok i well not Weld them and a year mine gone in 3 mouth of buying them and the old one must been on they for over 10 years

Only needs a spot weld, but I think it is important to weld to allow adjustment of camber, this is achieved by eccentric washers on the bushes. If bushes not fixed they will rotate and camber will be lost. I belive this to be correct, but also sure others will either confirm or poo poo

well i was to belive this !!, i could not see VW would spot weld them, in the fist place, to confuse people,they did this for the right reson,i wish mine last a year or so

Click on the link (at the bottom) of a recent thread on wishbone bush replacement, there is a video clip on this at the end showing how to adjust camber, also many threads on wishbone bush replacement if you do a search. Could it be that if you havent spot welded previous bushes they've worn so quick?

oh they was spot welded,but i only ask as some told me that u need not to weld i wont to see what every one thought as well with out get up set about it and thank for the link dud

Aye, that video should show movement with obligatory 'squeak' that most of us suffer from.

Deffo need spot welding. Nothing fancy. Just a blob otherwise bush will turn as adjuster rod and bolt are low-ish torque settings.

Liberally coat everything in copperslip and you'll never hear another squeak!

Watch out for the camber adjusting washers too.....
