That is a Lt cab or LT's use a Man cab.
Well VW and LT were bothe involed in the development of the Man 8.136 and 8.150 and their 4x4 versions.

Aren't the MAN cabs slightly wider? Probubly uses its own roof, front and rear pannels with LT sides/corners - the latter is probubly the most explenive pressings so it would make sence to share them.

The MAN cab is exactly the same size as the LT.If you look at the front of the MAN you can even see where the original LT lights fit.
When i was looking into a bigger camper my choise was between the MAN 8.136 4x4 and the LT 4x4.

I keep looking at the LT 4x4 as being a great overland vehicle, but the spares availability worries me.
What was it that swayed you towards the LT in the end Russel?
As i would imagine that spares are far more widely available for the MAN trucks are they not?
Are there any issues with registering the LT 4x4 in the UK due to its weight?

No it's not an LT, it's a MAN and VW Co-Production named FAE 8.136 or 8.150.
Here is a brochure:

From what CJ has told me there is an issue. If your reging it as a camper van its pritty easy like a T3 but if its a van or pickup, ie a 3.5-7.5t comercal it gets alot more complex. I suspect they were all based on LT40+ as they had front beam axles to start with, the 35's and below have indipendant front suspension.
I'm not aloud to drive any of them though

, can only gorp at them.
