Every winter I have probs with the sliding door. It simply won't catch at the back. Soon as weather warms up, problem goes away. Anyone else had this prob and what causes it?

Rear catch worn out or the plate at the back of the sliding door worn out ?

Rear catch mechanism stiff ? If this is the case then all it will need is plenty of WD40 and grease after that.

This was the case with my sliding door's centre hinge mechanism (after I had fitted a £160+ genuine brand new one) for my 1982 camper.

It works perfectly in warm weather though - without fault. Its just cold weather that it starts playing up.

Perhaps the sprung catch is overloaded with grease, which is more viscous in the cold, so does not spring back as quickly.

Mine also sometimes shuts with very little effort, and other times just springs back out a bit, very annoying, especially when you have put the catch down to lock it, and have to fish the keys out again..arghhh!!
