Hello,

It been a while since I've been on here, mainly because my vans been running like a beauty for a few months now.

BUT

Today as went to leave a friends house the accelerator cable snapped, it's snapped about four inches from the the auto box linkage.

Has anybody changed one before? What cable to I order>? (GSF nor Just kampers stipulate which cable is for an automatic) Are there special tools i should have before attempting this?

any help would be appreciated

Thanks

Dirtyx :lol:

I'd be trying your local VW agent if no joy found with others. This a DIY job if you are up to the task..

Vagcat shows 2 for the 1988 Petrol Automatic

RHD = 251723574

Yes, as Rob says ....http://www.speedycables.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.

Simply send the old one to them and they will make one up. Allow at least 14-16 working days (no matter what they promise) from the time you stick it in the post to them and the done item received back in your hands. Cost will be around 30 quid.

I've had mine recently replicated and it's soooo smooooth now! :ok
