Wandering wing mirrors

hi, I'm just getting to know and love my new T25 and one of her little quirks is that the wing mirrors tend to wander, to the extent that when approaching a roundabout, I have to quickly wind the window down and reposition them!

I'm very untechnical, so ideally I would like to buy some new mirrors and replace the old ones, but don't want to have to get into drilling new holes or anything like that. Are there any online scrapyard type places where I might pick up a set that will fit perfectly, or is this a common problem with mirrors of this age (1989) and would I be better buying brand new ones and getting a mechanic to fit them?

I love this forum by the way. My hubby is thoroughly sick of me going on about campers, so I think it might just save my marriage

Get yourself a big screwdriver that fits the screw heads well and a good breakfast (they're usually well tight, them screws)

Unscrew the mirrors and turn them over. You will then see a little nut that sits on the ball on which the mirror rotates. Try tightening that nut to stop your mirrors from wandering.

If that doesn't help, all the usual suspects sell replacement mirrors. Try to get genuine , convex ones. The cheap replicas are crap and you can't see a thing in the ones that only have plain, flat glass (replica or original)

If you remove your mirrors there is a nut.Tightening this up should stop them moving about. New ones are about a tenner from GFS but they have flat glass

Or resign yourself.....as many do.....to buying some BIG LECKIES or LT replacements that don't suffer from this syndrome. Expensive but beautiful and they stay put.

ok not wanting to hijack the thread, but just to pick up on something Peasant said. my van has the original mirrors, its RHD, the left mirror appears magnified and is rubbish unless you want to see something 100 meters behind you, the right mirror is 'normal' and works great.
i'm raising this because i was under the impression the left magnified mirror was the convex one (and in my oppinion rubbish)?
So im in the process of trying to track down a LHS normal mirror. wont consider syncro mirrors, far to much cash for what they are.

i agree, the perscription mirror glasses for the shortsighted are awful, stick with THE flat glass

I always thought the fold-back mirrors were to improve the vans aerodynamics & stealth capability.
