My vans roof seems to be seperating from the the main part of the vehicle (this is hard to explain and I can't post pics - have tried before - I just can't)

MollyMan had a look at Cromer - he said I need to force the roof down into the main panel of the chassis top (lip?), use mastic or something similar to seal it, then run a new strip of roofing something-or-other to hold it all in place - JK do it.

I know its a fairly ambiguous fault description - Molly Man - help me out here???

Checked JK's website. They do this, called "Gutter trim" - would this be the plastictrim I use to hold the roof in place?

The picture doesn't look anything like I would have thought it should like - I would have thought it wold be black plastic, about 3/4 cm thick - this looks metallic?

Looks like the base of the roof is bowing outwards, i.e. away from the side of your van, around where you've drawn the black line.

It isn't gutter trim that you need . . . but I don't know what the fix is, sorry. Hopefully somebody who does, will be along soon.

Oh dear....

It looks like you have hidden problems under the pop top. That roof is holdsworth villa pop top...i had one but removed it due to it needing money spending on it. What lurked beneath was scary...
Holes as big as my fist !!! and the gutter well crumbled away.
The pop top needs to come off to determine how bad your roof is. I welded a long sheet along both sides of mine and then sealed it with pvc adhesive...
The problem is these roofs are water traps and it the van has lived by the sea it will eat away at the points where the roof meets the van it self.....
My roof had not started to come away as the main stress points were fine.
a gallon of waxoyl later and it wont rot ever again well not in my life time.

ok pop the roof and look at the top back area covered in brown carpet
along the edges theres screws holdign the board down remove these and the board and youll be able to see the state of the roof cheers

before you panic....

Ermie's pop-top also bowed a little like that.....but it was just where the fibre glass had deformed.....when we removed the pop top the roof was absolutely fine underneath!!!

However, it was a different roof. Where yours has deformed is the fixed bit isn't it. Can you push it back?

Hi Em! Yeah, we can push it all back, and pop the roof back under, but it doesn't take long until its come out again (hence why Molly Man suggested we need to pop it in, then put the rubber strip in - that should hold it all in place).

Just that the only thing I could find in JK was "gutter trim", but if its not what I want - you know how it is - I just can't afford for it to be the wrong item.

GTI Mad Man - Shall take a look where you suggest - its a Holdsworth all right - got the correct shaped rear light overhead unit.

I want to sort out the roof, because I have noticed water under the doorstep rubbers - I think water is getting in through roof and down door panel into step area... (It might not be coming in from there, but it can't help with the roof like that)

If you have to remove the roof....and you do break anything I have my old roof up the side of the house...Its free to a good home...

It has a few crazes and cracks in it but otherwise with a coat of paint it would be fine.

I changed it because I wanted a high top for the extra storage.

My old roof is complete but as I say it is old and their are some cracks in it.

if you can get to the inside of where its pushed out, fill the gap with tiger seal then push it in and fix it in place fer an hour or 2 till it goes off. it'll never move again.

no no no water by front cab door step rubbers will almost always be comign from corner of front winderscreen a very common t25 fualt have a look under dash for drips and at state of botto corners of front winderscreen
