turbo diesel head gasket coolant port holes

Hello, does anyone know why some of the water ports on the 1.6td jx are blocked off by the head gasket. Is this right? Just noticed this when replacing it. Wouldn't this decrease coolant flow around the engine? thanks for reading, cheers!!

It's correct, some are blocked off 'by design'... but make sure you are fitting the gasket right side up... not unknown for it to be put on wrong.
