Have had a head put on ..can't work out why its not firing properly. All four sparks have good sparking..but doesn't appear to be running fully and sounds like a bag of nails. Tappets have been adjusted, and so on..help any ideas folks..?
Thanks

Dito...engine type?
But my money is on a partially open valve and no compression.

The heat transferer pod had to be taken off btw, and isn't back on the heat exchangers etc?
Does that make any difference?
I expect not.. The guyt working on it, says it needs welding back on..

It sounds as if a push rod isn't inserted properly (very common mistake)
I'd remove plug leads in turn to find culprit and then turn to firing tdc on that cylinder, then loosen that rocker shaft to see if I could lift the far end of either rod slightly and centralise it in the follower.
Did you adjust the tappets after fitting the new heads? If not, you need to find out if they are hydraulic or have been changed to solid.
New heads often advise missing out the head shims which means that the tappets will change.
