I have an eberspacher heater fitted underneath my 1982 air cooled van which doesnt work. I'm trying to find out which model it is likely to be. The only clue I have at the mo is that it is controlled by a green, illuminated twist switch on the dash similar to a radio volume switch where you turn it clockwise to switch on then the further you turn the warmer it should get
Any help would be great, thanks

I'm not an Eber person myself (got a Propex) but look in the 'Wiki' at the top of the page

the ebber will have a part number on it, inside the casing if its underneath
sounds like its a BL1 or 3 but only you will know when you look.

Mine is a similar vintage and on the petrol models they were called BA-6
look at
http://www.loam.org/vw/
select type 2 (Not vanagon - which covers Propex heater)
select Eberspächer BA6

Mine is an 83 diesel and has a D2L (2200w) .
If its a tiny suitcase size and under your van then its probably a D2L (diesel) or a B2L (petrol).
Have you tried to operate it with the engine running and do you have a leisure battery both in place and with a good charge as they have a voltage sensor so will not work without a decent voltage.
