is it a case if removing the crank pulley, the plastic cam belt covers (x2) and then the 6 or 8 bolts and off pops the water pump???

or is it, remove the exhaust as well so that I can get a drill or some mole grips to shift the crank pulley bolts that have rounded off

someone please just save my sanity

diesel BTW

I would have thought the crank pulley could stay in position. Yes damn confident that it can.

Dont forget to drain the system first.

I've got a upper and lower cover for the cambelt on my engine - I'll get on with it and get there :D

what a ferkin pain - why do the manuals never have the details you want.

I went and picked up my new waterpump from VW yesterday and I felt so stooopid. I was trying to remove the waterpump only and not all of the housing that the 3 pipes and thermostat feed into

New waterpump is on - I shall feed it some water in a bit and hope it all works
