Hi everybody - I have got a Westfalia Joker, 2 litre 1982 pop top - and I'm searching for a maintenance and operation manual - now I have found 'part' of the manual online, but am after the whole thing with servicing information etc. Does anybody know where I can get one?

Thanks!

So near, and yet so far! There is one third of the manual translated into English on the download pages here on 80-90... so there must be more of it somewhere... however, I am a teacher and work with German teachers... maybe they would translate it? Would you sell it?

I wouldn't bet on it. It's a technical manual and whereas us english give something a name like (made up) 'Gruption sprocket', the germans tend to give names that describe what it does so the literal translation of their word might be 'rubbery bit that stops the two metal collars grinding' or something like that.

Oh well, if nothing else it should give you a laugh........ :D

If it`s more general van servicing, oil changes, mechanical repairs etc you`re after then you need the Bentley re-printed VW factory maintenance manual, the Joker manual only covers anything specific to the Westy conversion parts, like fridge, water tanks etc.

It is the conversion bits like fridge, heater, etc... manual I'm after, I have the Haynes manual for the more technical side - is the Bentley book better then??

Bentley is official reprint of the original VW manual, it`s over 2" thick and covers most stuff (expect Turbo-Diesel engine), lot more specific on repairs etc than the Haynes.

That link to the french guy who has scanned the manual is pretty good, what else were you looking for in relation to using the Joker? Lotsa info on here, or if not then lotsa folks have a Westfalia.
