Electronic ignition management systems:
Anyone fitted one ?
Can it replace the vacumn advance system ?

Yes... but depends on what you are looking at... you will need to "programme" the correct curve and not a lot of advantage over the vac system if set correctly on a stock engine.. if the engine is modded then you can tune it to suit...

Well thats the question, its on my van already, dont know alot about them. Not particularly modded, still has original carbs and air filter etc.
Just no vac advance pipes connected, and this funny silver box bolted to the side of the engine bay

Don't know. could be just an electronic ignition module. I guess someone somewhere fiddles with these. I got the best one on my Ford 1600 Xflow in my boat. It is just a little gismo and rotor arm you fit in the dizzy. Once you get into ECU's you might as well be on Mars! Although you can get a programmable ECU as a kit for about 200 notes. Thinking about it it is probably an electronic ignition module like whats been around for years.
