Leisure battery help

On a Westfalia. I have checked the battery, and it is very low - 5volts or less. So I checked the charging using a draper tool, and charge is reaching the battery. The battery looks old, so I guess its knackered - could explain why the Eberspacher burner doesn't light, and why the fridge seems a little dead lets say.

So - I need to replace it - yes? Two questions:

1. Recommendations for a good leisure battery? (make and outlet?)

2. How do you remove it!! There is no way I can get it out because of the seat metal base, even swivelling the seat round. So I think the whole seat is gonna have to come out :( . Looks like just four nuts to undo right? Can anyone give me a step by step idiots guide to removing the seat to get at the battery. You are dealing with a novice btw!

Many thanks

Battery will come out with seat installed, push the seat forward on it`s runners, may have to swivel it a bit as well. Had mine in and out a few times, seat never been removed, same with the passenger side.

Read all the battery info including "what size fits" in the wiki as linked to by 1664. This comes up every week, loadsa info in the wiki.

Well, I did remove the seat - but it was mercifully easy! New battery in, so hopefully things will be better.
