Gas soldering iron

Aldi appear to be getting them in

I got one similar from screwfix, but have never used the soldering iron tip, it is just a nice small gas torch, which I used the naked flame for doing all the soldered connections on the van, they are very useful, that looks good value.

Yup...bloody brilliant..I've used mine so much I might by one of these as it's looking a bit tired.

Agree'd they are top, hot knike feature is handy too if you like cutting rope (I do!). If anything they can be a bit too powerful if you forget to turn them down after lighting.

Eventully they tend to die by not holding gas presure but by then you'll have impatently (they heat up really quick compaired to electric) done so many solderings remote from the mains, or other useful things you can't do with electric, you won't get too emotional.

Have a Weller brand one I've used for years. As said above, wouldn't be without it.

one in North Wales, Norwich, Great Yarmouth, Lowestoft, Kings Lynn, Thetford... all less then 40 miles for camping post code. :lol:

Yeah, it's great to be able to solder with no elecrtic cable getting in the way and without needing extension leads to solder in and around the Kamper! :) (can't remember the make of mine, Draper springs to mind but I could be wrong there)
