can those of you who have fitted lt arms to a T3 or have them fitted tell me how the top bracket is fixed to the door please.

i was going to fit rivnuts to the door but i think they will effect the door seal so 2nd option was rivets.

gaffer tape was option 3 ( did i just admit to that ) .

cheers lee.

lee, I have tracings of syncro and lt arms. I shortened the bottom of arm into bracket so arms are vertical instead of sticking out. Remove drift pin in bottom arm in bracket, work off of arm, cut 61mm off, sand/file to fit back into bracket, align bracket with arm on van to be sure, drill using bracket to index bit, and replace drift pin. Lower brackets are same casting, but syncro has wider mounting holes then lt. Top base/bushing is different... and think bottom base/bushing is too, but if not available, not a big deal. Syncro ones have some extra tapered thickness to match angle/space between body and bracket/retainer

Email me if you want the .pdf and .jpg

thanks lloyd, but the lt`s fit fine with a small tweek. i`m not going to try and create a syncro copy arm i just need more rear view and the ability to fold in with out fear of breaking the mirror.

i`m sure they`ll be handy for hanging the drying line on too
