Hi All,

Finally Fitted a Hight Top Roof today to my camper. Removed my pop top 2 WEEKS AGO revealing Holes and rot and gutters that......well enough said.

Anyhow welded it all up...good job im a dab hand with the mig.
The question I have is they say you only have to bond the high top roofs to the van...not pop rivet it like the pop top i removed...is this correct.I used 2 tubes of sika and 3 tubes of tiger seal to fit it....Looks good but my nerves are rumbling as not riveting or bolting things on dont seem right to me....

Thanks

Glenn.

it will be rite

time well spent is taking time with the outside ,where the roof meets the van ..at the front make sure its nicely seated and sealed up , then work your way around the sides and then the rear
the inside ,by the sound of how much you've squeezed in will be there after the tin worm has eaten up

Chaps,

I'd like to remove the rubber seals from my van, clean the gutters up and fill it with that Tiger Seal/U-Pol stuff.

I think the most sensible thing to do is to find someone who can deal with whatever might be under there before I get down to pulling bits off it. I'm happy to attack it with rust remover etc but from reading posts like this which mention MIG welding etc, i'm quite concerned about what might be lurking under the rubber when I get it off and so I want to be prepared.

What's the best way to remove the rubber that's there?

and...

Any ideas of a good bodyshop/welder in Brighton area? I only go by recommendation.

Sorry for the hijacking of this thread, it's related though,

Cheers,

HV
