Failed MOT because this isn't working apparently.
Is there a light that shows my rear Fog is on, or are the garage mad?
It is an '86 Diesel dash.

On the switch there is a small green light that comes on when a cisit is made.
First position front fogs if install, second position rear fog, factory installed O/S/R.
Mine an 83 plate if thats any use

Best look at getting it sorted then.
Do you know if it is an all in one unit or can the bulb be changed?

If it is just the bulb, consider replacing it with an LED this time.

Pop the switch out and you will see the lamp jobby, brown cable on it, twist it and it pulls out.
Swap the lamp over, JD.

They only have to work on dipped beam.
Land rovers are wired this way all the other cars I looked at work on both dipped and main beam. Only found this out when I finally got the wiring diagrams out, then went on line to DVLA where they confirmed it

Upon cracking open the dash there he was, the little brown wire, dangling free. Took less than a minute to sort!

Passed all today!
After spending half an hour tuning and cleaning the carb I accidentally left it on LPG, so he sailed through the emissions!
BTW, any Hackney/Tower Hamlets owners (I know your there!) Westgate Motor Centre, 14, Westgate St, London, E8 3RN 02072411233 is a great place to go.
The owner Bill has done a full resto on his daughters splittie and also a local T25 Joka, so I've booked Chuckles in for some winter overhauling!
Will keep you posted!

well done on the pass........ why would you take it in on petrol if it runs on lpg?
they have to test it on what ever you drive in on......

Westside Motors "VW specialists" had asked me to put it over to petrol when I took it for the MOT there. Yet another red mark for them.
I thought it was strange too as I have used about 1/5th of a tank of petrol in 18 months! There are probably more weeds than petrol in my tank!
