Having just picked up my T25 and now comming to think that it may not have enough internal space to carry what we need for a young family on an extended trip. This got me wondering about building a custom trailer, something which would fit everything we need and still look like it fits with the styling of the T25.

Would probably also go down the 'expedition' style and build it to use the same wheel and tyre comb as the camper and with similar ground clearance (T25's a syncro).

Sure there must be lots already out there, why not post your achievement here and share your good ideas.

About to begin building one myself, expedition style too.

I'll be using an AlKo caravan chassis, cut down in length but fitted with 5x112 hubs (yes, they exist). It comes with rod brakes, auto-reverse hubs and proper suspension so the main mechanicals and load bearing structure are already there and don't need to be modified. All I shall be doing is moving the rear crossmember and the drawbar/front crossmember closer to the axle.

Size will be around 8x5ft

After all, with 2 kids that are rapidly growing up, they need their own space, plus all the extra room for extras....

On board gene. that sounds great. go the whole hog and put in a compresor as well
Noticed busman has a trailer to match his trailbreaker van. looks great with matching alloys but a bit big for my taste, im looking to maintain the visibility out the rear window.

I was trying to find a pic but the trailbreaker site was down. Thats the one that inspired me to go that way. As I have a Syncro crewcab visibility is not an issue

For info......... 5 x 112 wheel PCD is a standard on larger caravans, so you can get braked indespension units, rims etc. in that size. Check out the trailer parts section on:

i love that trailer make me one lol

arm tempted go down that line also but possibly only up to the base of the windows,then make the van/trailor roof hinged.....dont know yet tho...but trailer looks good.....
