LPG and interior heating

Hello everyone.

My beloved van is booked in to be converted to LPG with Steve at Gasure next month. I'm having a 70l tank fitted under the rear seats.

The thought occurred to me that I might want to fit a heater (Propex or Edel, I've not decided) before the winter climbing seasons starts in Scotland.

This leads me on to:

1. Can I still fit the heater in the box under the seat despite there being a 70l tank full of explosive goodness there? and;

2. Does anybody have their heater running on LPG and, if so, should I get Steve to fit anything in particular to allow this to happen?

Thanks in advance.

I would speak to steve before it goes in!

He does the propex installations I believe.....maybe worth investigating with him what could be put in to make future installations easy!

Take care

As she said! I doubt the Propex would fit under the seat with the tank. Gasure have done the engine conversion and fitted a Propex and underslung leisure gas tank on my van. Having the Propex meant I had to have the torroidal (wheel shaped) tank. There are pics in my garage of the main tank and the leisure tank but not of the Propex unfortunately. If I get a chance, I'll add some. The designs for tanks seem to alter from time to time as I think some systems automatically fill the leisure tank with the main tank and you used to be able to get combined tanks. Speak to Steve!

Just to provide some closure in case someone searches this thread to answer a similar question in the future...

Yes, you can fit a propex heater to a camper with a 70 litre LPG tank under the R&R bed, but it the heater has to be fitted to the vertical cupboard next to said R&R bed.

Right, hope that clears everything up.

Here's to a warm van for the winter!
